| Electric Vehicle Concepts (E-V Concepts) built its first freeway speed conversion in 1978 and its first hybrid using a Harley Davidson gas engine in 1981. E-V Concepts continues to offer conversion services for street cars and yachts alone with designing and building electric vehicle concept cars and motorcycles. In the past six years we have been averaging four lithium powered conversions each year along with a number of our city commuter concepts. Over the past thirty years we have designed many different fiberglass bodies for our electric vehicle concepts. You can find some of our city car commuters on our website. Since 1995 E-V Concepts has been located in Charleston, South Carolina near the intra coastal waterway to offer our hybrid conversions to the yachting industry in North America. Since Chevron still controls the large format nickel batteries we only have the Chinese lithium batteries to use in the modern electric vehicle. We have been testing lithium batteries for the past seven years in our personal company vehicles. We have found the lithium batteries out last the lead acid batteries more than four cycles to one along with the added advantage of being one third the size and one third the weight of the lead acid battery pack. The use of lithium power is a safer and more cost effective alternative for the modern electric vehicles. With the extra space from the use of the lithium battery systems we have been able to add onboard generators for extending the range while driving or recharging at any time. The generators are electric start and all controls are moved into the drivers cab area. These generators are double insulated and very quiet with the ability to use different fuels such as bio diesel. Our lithium battery charging systems are designed for each individuals needs. Average recharge times are one minute for every one mile driven. Recharge times are only limited to the chargers abilities. Any lithium battery can recharge in ten minutes just like your cell phone, laptop or power tools. Electric Vehicle Concepts is a nonprofit organization and a sister company to the Spherical Designs Organization. Shop cost is $10 per hour plus materials and components.
